Invest in Good Business Equipment: My Experience

When I started my cabinet production business, I was lucky enough to secure a good business loan, since my credit was stellar. Although I had the cash to purchase brand-new equipment or gently used items, I wanted to save by buying very old items. I was told they had a lot of life left in them, even though their low price seemed too good to be true. I learned my lesson when important pieces kept breaking down. I even had to stop production for several days to fix an important item. I learned a huge lesson that if the price of used production equipment sounds too good to be true, it likely is. I created this blog to remind other business owners that purchasing quality equipment may cost more money upfront, but it will save you money and a huge headache in the end. I hope I can help you.

The Pros And Cons Of Robotic Welding Machines

If you mass produce items that need to be welded together, you may be considering buying a robotic welding machine. A robotic welding machine features an arm, that holds your metal items that need to be welded in place. A second robotic arm is then programmed to complete the weld exactly where you need it. Learning the pros and cons of a robotic welding machine can help you determine if it is something your company should invest in. Here are a couple of the top pros and cons of robotic welding machines.

The Cons of Robotic Welding Machines

  • They Are Expensive

The biggest disadvantage to robotic welding machines, and the reason that more businesses do not use them when mass producing welded items, is because the machinery is expensive. Unfortunately, due to the high costs, many smaller businesses simply cannot afford to purchase this type of equipment for their business. If your business has limited money, a robotic welding machine may not be ideal for you.

  • They Require a Lot of Maintenance

The other downside to robotic welding machines is that they require a lot of maintenance. They machines must be properly cleaned to remove metal shavings and other debris that can land on the machine. If not cleaned off, the accuracy of the weld can be affected. If you don't want to spend a lot of time caring for a piece of equipment, this may not be the best option for you.

The Pros of Robotic Welding Machines

  • Quickly Mass Weld

The biggest advantage associated with robotic welding machines is that they can quickly weld items that are mass produced. In fact, machines can weld these items faster than humans can. As such, if you have items that need to be welded day in and day out, this may be a great way to speed up production, resulting in you making more money.

  • Very Accurate Welds

The other benefit associated with robotic welding machines is that the machine is able to weld extremely accurately. This helps to eliminate human error and mistakes that are made. This improves the quality of your product and ensures uniformity in your products.

Robotic welding machines allow a business to quickly and repeatedly weld items that are mass produced very accurately. However, the machines are very costly to buy and require constant maintenance. Always weight the pros and cons to help you decide if buying a robotic welding machine is right for your company. Contact a company, like WELDBOT, LLC, for more help.
